Re: Scarborough Reef

Hey Jay, I've been following your trip reports from Scarby and it looks as though you are really starting to get the place wired! Well done mate, it's really good to see you read between the lines and take on the advise of others. You certainly seem to be a competent, thinking and self reliant fishe...

Re: Scarborough Reef

Beware the yaks, you can run them over if not looking, especially this time of the year when the sun comes up late! or you can just run them over anyway! Ha ha! (just jokes - love yaks, just wouldn't fish in one @ sub 28 degrees). Jay http://www.fishconnect.com.au You haven't lived....jus...

Re: Scarborough Reef

look for bait or even other boats (especially the yakers) and get a sounder. Keep trying, you will find it. Jay http://www.fishconnect.com.au Steady on there Jay. The biggest reason the yakkers catch a few fish out here is because of the lack of noise in a kayak, having tinnies come by even...

Re: Scarborough Reef

Get used to it dude, you should try it in a kayak, some of those pricks just have no idea. It is an absolute joke out there when the weather is good. By some miracle if you do actually manage to catch something decent amongst the buzzing of dodgy outboards and anchor chains bashing aluminium, you th...

Re: Re fishing pontoons - advise needed

2 inch Gulp shrimp on 1/40th hidden weight. Either way is good. Be quiet and listen and you will hear if the fish are chewing on the underside of the pontoon, use polaroid glasses and you can often see them also. Use any water flow to help take your lure under also. Watch your line for takes.

Re: 2010 Hobie-ABT Kayak Series Round 4 Redcliffe QLD

The location as noted is an open bay area with some protection from bay conditions inside the reef laggon area to the north of the launch base. I don't know what they will do if the weather turns sh!%, as this area is very open to any wind/swell with an easterly slant. There are some nearby canals t...

Re: 2010 Hobie-ABT Kayak Series Round 5 Noosa QLD

Millions of options for staying in Noosa, but as it is school hols alot will be booked out already but there will always be something available. One of the better spots to stay would have been Munna Point Caravan park which is only about 5-10mins paddle away from this launch spot, but if you can get...

Re: 2010 Hobie-ABT Kayak Series Round 5 Noosa QLD

Entrants will be arriving from 5am and this carpark should have ample parking around this time of day (school holidays or not) The event targets bream only and is run just like the bass events.

Re: Bass electric events?

Mate I fish from a 4.5m purpose built sit on top fishing kayak (viking profish). It anit a small craft. A livewell is my next project for the kayak. I fished the bream kayak event at Mooloolaba with a pretty dodgy setup and it did the job for the bream. For the bass though a mate of mine and I are m...

Bass electric events?

Hey Guys,

Can you enter a bass electic event in a kayak? Or do you need to enter in a proper boat under electic power and take non-boater with you?
