I have used a friends and found it pretty heavy. If your a big fella you might be ok. If you are err slender like myself then you might find it hard going.

Very Smooth. That rod action is nice. I was looking at getting a zippi but am thinking I better get a good look at the centuries.

I have often thought that most of todays distance casters use their feet too little. That is some awesome distances cosidering the gear is between 15 and 20 years old. Did they use carbon back then?

The main problem I find with overheads and braid is the braid biting in during the cast therfore you get lots of bust offs. Like someone said use 150 meters of mono then braid backing. Its amazing how much you can fit on a 525 if you use braid as backing.

Thanks Eddie, I am in the market for the hyper custom, some good prices flaoting around at the moment. Although I hear Daiwa about to update their range. The new Shimano's all come with a new "Propulsion System" I think that is marketing talk for angled spool lip/better line lay/slightly angled spoo...

You guys reverse your stripper guides for overheads? I bought a daiwa emblem rod for my penn 525mag and getting some ok distance from it but am wondering if I should reverse the stripper guide on it.

new trinidad

Anyone used the new shimano digital cast control trinidad yet? Also anyone got any recomendations for a fixed spool reel to get max distance from a 9 foot rod? Rod has been built to new guide concept with some of Leighs tweaks. Casting well with my old stradic 5000 at the moment but want to get some...

Hi Guys thanks for all the advice I ended up talking to Graham (nice guy) he told me not to bother with coasters for what I was trying to do and to buy one of those tape on shimano reel seats. So I did and am happy as I will probably eventually put on a proper reel seat and this way I can test until...
