Steve,
Just wondering why you are reducing the numbers for the Bream Grand Final, but opening up numbers for the Classic Grand Final?

Re: Barra Trophy series
Hi Matty, Unfortunately we won't be holding a Barra Trophy event this year. We were going to try and squeeze one in for late October, but there are too many other competitions and commitments to work around, and we don't want to take anything away from the two ABT series, which promises to be bigger...

Go Carl! What an inspiration!
He really epitomises the adage of 'Having a go!’ He is really putting himself on the line to have a crack at the big time. Massive effort!
All the best! and try and avoid those tornados!

Re: Aus Open and Ranking Points - Explanation Please?
Hi Steve, Can you clarify info on a few events please. I can't find any info on the QLD Open. Is it going to be a Boater only event with Ranking points available? or a teams event as per usual. Also the Gold Coast Pro Am (conference) I note its on Friday the 17th August, prior to the Trade show on M...

Re: Barra Rankings
I had a look, but I can't find the rules on the website atm.
But for each event, the top five get extra points, 1st - 40, 2nd - 37, 3rd - 34, 4th - 31, 5th - 28, then 6th to 29th go 24, 23, 21, 20 etc to 1 pt
It is calculated over two years,
Hope that helps,
Matt

Re: Mondy Barra Trophy Info
Thanks Lawrence,
Definite shame about the weather, great to see so many Yakkers turn up and have a go.
There will be more barra in there for us to chase in the future, thanks to the efforts by MASA, and the extra donations over the weekend,
Cheers,
Matt

Re: Mondy Barra Trophy Info
I've had a question on lights for the event. Lights are required for any session that starts before sunrise or ends after sunset. For this event Sunset is 5.52pm, Sunrise is 5.32am See the link for details http://sunrisesunset.willyweather.com.au/qld/wide-bay/lake-monduran.html Therefore all craft w...

Re: Mondy Barra Trophy Info
On the way back from the Faust Trophy, I fished Mondy on Monday and it is looking good, I landed a 70cm and 42cm Barra on 4" Hollowbellys. Plus I had another follow all the way to the boat. Water is clear, bait is visable in some bays, boneys, barred grunter and garfish. Mondy is looking superb, and...

Re: Mondy Barra Trophy Info
Hi Moggy, It was in the Barra Trophy Rules (in the Event Information) from when we first posted the 2011 info, Fishing Boundaries – As this event is being run concurrently with the Barra Trophy Kayak Event, Barra Trophy Kayak teams are restricted to fishing the main basin, SDA bay and Bird Bay. Barr...

Re: Mondy Barra Trophy Info
The Mondy Map is now up on australianbarra.com.au The red line on the map is the fishing boundary between boaters and Yakkers. The Boater's fishing area is anywhere upstream of the line, the Yakkers are to stay downstream of the line. There is a lot of water there to cover for both divisions. The Re...

Re: ABT BREAM 2012
Steve, you wrote "One thing that I'd like to comment on is that there's no 'us' and 'them' when it comes to ABT random draw events and teams events." There is an "us" and "them" when it comes to sponsorship dollars, and the teams series are taking a fair slab of sponsorship dollars and product away ...

Re: ABT BREAM 2012
I think 2011 has been a disaster for ABT Bream, I’d love to see it regain its former glory. I think the main emphasis for 2012 has to be on the competitors and getting them back. Lower entry fees is a good start - yes most of us don't care about paybacks, we don't expect to win, we just want to have...

Mondy Barra Trophy Info
The Mondy Barra Trophy weekend is shaping up to be a great barraholics convention, it will be the season opening event for Southern Barra Anglers, and a good opportunity for anglers to try and get a handle on the ''New" Mondy. There is a lot of new water to explore for those that haven't been there ...
