Re: BASS ELECTRIC WINNERS ON AFC

Ian, The term, ''Entry level" is taken straight from ABT itself. They own the various Bass, Bream and Barra tournaments under their banner. AFC kayak entry has been the norm for the Bream fisho's for a number of years now. But no one has been able to unhinge Scott Lovig from his rightfully earned Br...

Re: Painting jig heads

Paul,
Considering the usual life span of a jig head, nail polish is a very cheap and effective alternative.

Re: BASS ELECTRIC WINNERS ON AFC

Adrian, Further to the point, in 2010 the thread was appropriate and in turn with availabillity of Bass tournaments at the time. ABT began with Bass and over the years ABT has evolved. ABT stated from the inception of the electric series that it was intended as an entry level option. Due to the diff...

Re: BASS ELECTRIC WINNERS ON AFC

Adrian, Never a change of heart. Like always I am just stating facts - can't help it. I had plenty to say before when the electric and kayak events were run in conjunction and some electric angler's raised what they beleived were safety issues with kayaks on the water at the same time with electric ...

Re: BASS ELECTRIC WINNERS ON AFC

Steady on guys, The electic series was always intended as an entry level event from it's inception. (Pre AFC) To qualify for a possition in AFC you had to win an ABT grand final or AOY in the Pro Series (Bass/Bream/Barra) Therefore an angler currently fishing in the electric series and consistantly ...

Congrats Mark.

A huge congrats to Mark 'Rubben James' Lennox for taking out the Bass Pro. Mark is one of those guys that is always there and fishes regardless of the conditions. He is also one of those boaters that gets pleasure out of putting his non boaters onto fish. His win is well deserved. Not to forget youn...

Re: Bass Electric Elite Series

I have been having similar thoughts for some time now, and have noticed that the competitor numbers in the Bass-Pro series along with other high profile Bass events outside of ABT have had a drop off in recent times. In particular the last two years. At first I put it down to cost, but if that was t...

Re: Bass Kayak comps

Dave, Unfortunately the official word is that ABT is not looking at running Bass Kayak rounds at the moment. It is permissable for you to fish Bass electric rounds from your kayak, just need to deal with the live well issue. The rules stipulate at 60L live well, there is some argument thought wether...

Re: Bass electrics 2012

Ian, Sorry but not miss quoting at all. You raised the point of some of the electric boats loosing control (veering off cause) when the operator moved from the front of the craft to adjust or stop the rear push motors. That is the point I am getting at and it has nothing to do with kayaks being in ...

Re: Bass electrics 2012

Jesper, The safety argument has nothing to do with kayaks or any other form of craft for that matter. You cannot argue that due the possibility of electric boats running off cause due to the operator not having full control of the vessel there is a need to remove smaller craft (kayaks) from the equa...

Re: Bass kayak dates???

In saying this kayakers are still permitted to fish the Blue Fin Boats BASS Electric Series, as long as equipment rules are complied with (i.e. 60 litre livewell). Of course I realise this is not possible with all kayaks. Simon, This is indeed a pity, and a shame it took such a thread to gain the t...

Re: Bass electrics 2012

I have fished the Bass Electric for 10 years now I have witnessed some very impressive minor accidents and lots of near misses the worst of being a boat suddenly veering off course and take out another competitors front electric motor with the bow of his boat if this had been a small kayak it may h...

Re: Bass electrics 2012

Tony, I for one am prepared to step up and look after Bass Kayak events for central NSW: Lostock, St Clair & Lake Lyell all being suitable for Kayak events. I have informed the ABT guys of this several times. They are time consuming I know, but once the system is stream lined, no more then the elect...

Simon, Have been holding off, but my work roster is now into February so have to work out what weekends I need for fishing. Re: Bass Kayak Events

James, From my understanding of the measurement rules all fish are rounded up to the next whole number when measure to the fork of the tail. A fish of 30.1cm is recorded as 31cm hense the 31cm legal length for the kayak rounds. On that note, there is mention in the rules of measures being provided, ...

I have confirmed that the Lake McDonald event is actually based from the Hatchery at the northern end of the lake next door to the Cooroora Scout Camp. So we will be staying at the Scout grounds.
