Re: Clarrie Hall this weekend

MP, apparently, if you use Facebook (I don't), it is!!!!! I was told by one of the handful of us having a pre-fish last Saturday there was a post on the ABT Facebook page stating it's on. I googled "ABT Facebook page" & found a comment. From what I can work out, Joseph Urqhart has put his hand up to...

Re: Hinze Convention

Good work Simon, that'll give us more room. It might be possible to do the weigh-ins down on the point too, leaving the boat ramp area clear for pulling craft out.

Now let's all maintain the usual boat ramp etiquette shown at the Electrics to make it a quick & easy in/out!

Cheers,

Re: Hinze Convention

Had an ABT Electric Convention pre-fish at Hinze yesterday with about another 15 boats/kayaks. The car park was chocker block even with that amount of anglers, so we'll all need to be nice to each other next weekend to squeeze all the extra cars/trailers in. Throw in a few spectators & the general p...

Re: hinze dam, outboard

Hi Guys, Don't want to put a dampener on your fishing but here's the rules. I think the bit that says - "Motor boats powered by or fitted with internal combustion engines are not permitted" - kind of covers it! Cheers, Gold Coast City Council Local Law Policy No.13 (Hinze and Little Nerang Dams) Are...

Re: Prefishing bass electrics

We've got our head in the sand if we think a pre fish ban is required just to make it a level playing field. The only reason a pre-fish ban is wanted &/or needed is to ensure some fish are caught on competition day. When the starters gun goes off, does it matter what happened yesterday, last week, l...

Re: Bass electrics

Hi Steve, glad you enjoyed the experience of an ABT Electric event last Sunday & hope you managed to get a few. On the subjet of membership to ABT - I fish the Electric Circuit regularly & have always been a financial ABT member. I have a couple of mates I fish the comps with & they too are financia...

Re: Moogerah Bass Electric

Yeah Slim, we set up & launch from the boat ramp at the "Day Area" in the Caravan Park. We'll need to get a code for the boomgate first to gain access & make sure we behave ourselves (see last years posts). Had a pre-fish there on Saturday & rounded up 5 bass with only 3 being legal. Plenty of bait ...

Re: Battery Setups for Bass Electric Boats

Yeah Barry just leave the 6v batteries hooked up in series & use your 12v charger. I've been using a couple of 6v 220AH Federals for my 12v RT55 on the front of the Spanny Fly for a couple of years. Like everyone else has said, it's definitely the way to go to prolong battery life. I can fish a 2 da...

Don't wait for 2 years time BJ......it's VERY interesting right now. Fortunately I bumped into Ian at the boat ramp yesterday morning & he was very forthcoming with some tips, as usual (thanks Ian). Now I need to replenish the spinnerbait box after a couple of dustings in the trees & grass. Hope the...

Re: auto-pilot for minnkota riptide

Hi Paulr1, I've owned a couple of Riptides with A/P over the years & have just bought a new one recently. Like Steve & PJ I've had 1 that was faultless (it just wore out in the end) & 1 that had endless motherboard & footpedal hassles (but BLA always repaired it & it too just wore out in the end). I...

Well done Dan........you got me into this with the "gay" call. Gee I hope you canetoads win at least 1 of the next 2 games, otherwise it's you blokes that are "gay". Re: Fly Line for Bass

Hi JB, Any of the SA Mastery series lines are good. Francey has got you off to a good start with a SA Striper IV to get you deep. You'll need some type of floating weight forward taper to turn over some of the bigger surface flies you'll be throwing at bass & the togas in Borumba. Look at the SA Bas...

Re: Bass Finals Shirts

Hi Steve,

Mine's for sale for 2 reasons;

1. I keep getting asked how I went in the Granny (embarrassing) &
2. Someone accused me of looking like a Canberra Raider (really embarrassing)!!!!

Really, they're great & mine's gettin' plenty of use. Saw a couple at the Flatty Classic!

Cheers,

George, Fish with livies (herring, mullet or whiting) at any bridge, deep hole or rock bar from Nerang downstream to Monaco street bridges. You can jig some herring at most bridges or net the others at the end of canals. Late afternoon into the evening is generally best, especially if a storm is bre...

Hi Chick Magnet, They're in lovin' mode which makes them very one eyed at the moment. Come October/November they move back up river a little & start feeding again. We have some hot sessions on them using surface lures (mainly fizzers) around the lakes up past Pacific Fair. I fished the lower Nerang ...

Stradic, I had a couple of lucky results this year & placed in the top 5 at two electrics. I've ended up with half a dozen barra lures, a nice reel, heaps of jig heads, a couple of limited edition spinnerbaits, PE braid & leader material plus other bits & pieces. I've swapped the barra lures with a ...

Yeah thanks for the rap & advice. Anzac Rd was nothing compared to the Bruce Highway. After dropping Paul on the Sunny Coast, it took me 3 1/2 hours to get to the Goldy. See ya next time.
