Re: Partner for the port Mac bream classic

G'day Pete, I am not sure if you got a start in the Port Classic or even live in the Port Macquarie area, however the Hastings Bream and Bass club run mini comps for members once a month for bream and bass. If you are interested in getting into the comps our club might be a place to start. We have o...

Re: Some Grand Final 2003 footage - thanks to Phil Nix!

Great footage.
Those were the days. I suppose the field would have been squashed into a smaller area without the speed and range the fibreglass boats have now.
Still my 4 metre proline would fit right into the 2003 fleet.
Keep this one in the archives.

Boater registration stuff

G'day everyone, I am entered at Tweed as a boater for the first time. Apart from my fishing license and ABT card which I had to show as a non boater do I need to present anything else at the registration prior to the briefing? (ie: boat license, copies of insurance) I am really looking forward to th...

Re: Best route to travel from Sydney to Mallacoota

G'day fellas, I drove from Port Macquarie to Mallacoota for the Grand final a couple of years ago. I took the inland way from sydney down to Canberra then through Cooma and down to a place called Rockton. There I headed to the coast and on down the Princes Highway to the Mallacoota turn off. In all ...

Re: AFC Series 8 - It's ON.

I enjoyed it. It is like the 20twenty version of tournament fishing. Personally I would rather watch test cricket ( meaning longer format) but if it attracts interest and gets good ratings then it is working.
Like I said I still enjoyed it. Good job fellas.

Craig

Starting as a boater.

G'day Fellas, I have been following the conversation on the ABT format in a different area. A point was made about boat size and competing in qualifiers. Disregarding all the current talk about costs of entry, I have been considering running my 399 Proline Angler with a 30 hp tiller steer in a bream...

Re: ABT BREAM 2012

I have the Breaming DVD here at home and I believe in that year there were 4 events in total but a good level of participation which led into a Grand Final, with a State of Origin billing. This was the first show that made me want to get into comp fishing because it looked like a great experience. F...

Re: Junior Tournaments

G'day Fellas, The competitions such as the Gamakatsu and the teams events are set up for Junior to participate with an adult be it parent or a significant other. In Port Macquarie we have had Catch, Photograph and release competitions which have had some success but were difficult to maintain in the...

Series 8 AFC

G'day Everyone, Does anyone know if or when the new AFC ( 2010) series is going to be on the tele? With two little kids and work ect I can't get to as many tournaments as I would like to. It is good to keep up to date with new ideas coming through by watching the top anglers on tele. Besides I like ...

Re: new comer

G'day Mitch, As a non boater I have taken up to three rods with spare spools in the bag rigged up ready to go. I have one rod with braid and 4-6lb leaders. My other two are three or four pound flourocarbon straight through for casting hard bodies. One of these has some mono straight through for cast...

Re: shared weight qualifier

G'day Fellas, I can see that the big boys want to fish big events and can respect that because the ABT has grown from what it was 10 years ago, it is a natural progression. But I also believe we need to keep in mind the grassroots of the sport by making it accessable for people to move through the r...

Manning River Bream Challenge this weekend??

G'day everyone,
Can anyone tell me if the Manning River Bream Challenge set down for this Sunday is still a goer despite all the rain and the condition of the river.
Looking forward to fishing the Manning again but if the river is flooding that might be a different story.

Thanks again.

Re: Mallacoota van park

G'day Everyone, We have two kids aged 6 and 3. We are not sure if we should all come down for the grand final or I should go it alone. Being new to the ABT and only seen the grand final on DVD's I am not sure. If anyone can help out with some suggestions to the following: - Does anyone else take the...
