Re: NEW BASS FOR CASH ELECTRIC EVENT

Even though im not fishing the event due to the clashing dates,as a travelling angler myself i totally agree with Shanes comments. I often do the 10 to 12 hour drive from newcastle to QLD dams but no way would i drive there if i couldnt get on the dam until the day of the event.
Cheers Andrew

Re: Wild Idea.

Its not a crazy idea but travelling anglers would be at a major disadvantage against local anglers who can fish right up 2 the pre fish ban. As it stands now all they have is that 1 day. I doubt id drive all the way 2 Qld if i didnt at least have 1 day 2 sus out the dam an bite etc just my opinion t...

Re: Longlining ?

When boats fish banks there electric motors are moving the boat as they cast an retrieve, So yes you can do that. You just cant let the boat drag the lure along as in trolling. So you are wrong. I have no interest in going back an forth but what was wrote is in the rules an legal with ABT. Will i fi...

Re: Longlining ?

Moving with the times is fine. Ive just purchased a 6500 saltiga an 3000m of braid, cant wait for wivenhoe so i can drop my lure in at the start then go as far as i can accross the basin an whilst im stil moving with the minn kota ever so slowly il wind my lure in. Its not against the rules. I guess...

Longlining ?

The ABT rules state cast and retrieve, in my opinion cast an paddle or motor off with an open bail arm then retrieve is certainly pushing that rule. Just my thoughts though but im interested what everyone else thinks ?

Re: signing up for bass electric

All you need to do is get your hands on the ABT tournament angler guide it has a membership form inside it. Fill it out an return it to ABT with your money an then just check the dates for the events you wish to fish an then turn up. Its as simple as that. Or if you no someone who has the mag alread...

Re: ABT Bass Pro- Permitted rigs?

Hi steve An alabama with 2 plastics is fine as your only using 2 hooks on the rig which is permitted in nsw. Realy its no different 2 a spinnerbait an trailer with a plastic on it. As far i know 1 lure is considered 1 hook. Im not 100% sure but i have looked this up months ago when the rig first hit...

Re: It must be our turn..

I agree St Clair would be a good venue, at least we could all sit around after the sessions an share a drink or 2 in a more social environment as a group. Being next year though ,i wil worry about it if i qualify. It was mentioned that BP may be the venue so i guess we will just wait an see.
