Release will be at 7.00am at Billies Bay. If you don't have a key you will need to be there at 7.00am sharp as we need to lock the stupid gate after we go in.

Save our access to Billies Bay!!!!!!

I've just been informed that Somerset Regional Council are tomorrow (September 12th) voting to close the bridges on the Billies Bay / Hayes Landing road. If this motion is passed, this will mean an end to all boat access to the northern side of Lake Wivenhoe. I urge everyone to telephone and email a...

I have a Co-pilot and an iPilot. The Co-pilot is worth the $300.00 and the iPilot is worth the extra again.

Re: Boondooma?

I was at Awoonga earlier in the the year, just after the Barra event was cancelled. I believe there is more bad press to be had by cancelling a comp when the fishing is tough, than by holding the comp and only weighing in a few fish. Some Gladstone locals were quite vocal about the comp being canned...

Re: Stratos trailer springs

Brisbane Springs at Nudgee have the dimensions on their computer. They've done a few sets and they use proper bushes so you can ditch the skinny original ones. Same shackles and bolts are used. They've made five or six sets now.

Thanks for coming to lend a hand Brad, it was greatly appreciated. Did you notice that we got our heads and your boat on Chanel 7 news too? My brother is stuck in Hospital staring at a TV screen and saw it. Sorry I had to disappear, we had to take care of some family business in Caloundra. Normally,...

Sorry Steve,
Those days are over. The Water Board provide their boat for the releases. I may take mine to Somerset to spread them around a bit though.

Re: BASS Electric Series 2011- Draft Ideas

Couple of things from a non-entrant regarding Pre fishing. All of the complaints I have been told about involving use of outboards on electric only dams involving comps have happened with people prefishing. There have been a couple of warnings issued by SEQ Water on Wivenhoe for this. It seems to be...

A good friend of mine has caught plenty of Hinze bass on the small size in the same colour as the bottom pic. I got my first Barra in Teemburra a lotta years ago on the same colour in the larger size. Flathead like them as well.

Don't look at me Simon, blame Pam. Her first reel was a Monobloc XOR and she hasn't looked back since then. She was casting with my 56 the other day and hitting a coke can more often than not so she decided she should have one for the kayak. They are too nice to hang on a wall. Are there any other b...

Mate, it's a company car, it'll tow anything. They make company cars in a special factory, similar to rental cars. They're made to be able to jump gutters, tow outragous weights, and generally survive with no maintenance except the sevices as written in the book. I remember back in the '70s a Vic ga...

Re: non boater ettiquette

Some boaters won't want to accept fuel money, but a $5 or $10 scratchie ticket is always received well. Something that most won't realise, is once the boater accepts fuel money it becomes a commercial transaction. This could mean that the boat should be in survey and the boater should have a coxswai...
