LL,
For what its worth I was told to just paint the entire surface with bondcrete a few times to protect the ply. I did this in a couple of my boats with no problems (at least for a couple of years before I sold the boat's).

jay,
use a lighter and heat the old tip until it slides off, then put on the new tip with some epoxy glue. Its that easy!

Re: Bream on the full moon
punch, This is true, the bream spawn leading up to the full moon and as a result the days following can be hit and miss. But in saying that September is not really a spawning month (at least in Brisbane). Best bet is just to go fishing if you have the chance and not worry about the science stuff, ju...

SM and ABT, this was a great idea that helped my family watch the weigh-in as they were not able to attend. Even my old lady who lives in NZ tuned in on the action an though it was great and she could hear everything crystal clear. I look forward to watching the weigh-in action from NZ as well. Top ...

Re: Scarborough Reef
Jay, Try fishing further south of the green tripod, bout halfway would be as good a place to begin your searching and mental mapping of the area. bugger the anchor off, use artificials for better results. Beware the yaks, you can run them over if not looking, especially this time of the year when th...

Re: Scarborough Reef
Jason, The stick would have to be the heaviest fished area, must be like a beacon for boaties. Good fish can still be caught there though, fishes best when conditions are uncomfortable for most. My best advice would be to get familliar with the area in winter when the water in jin clear, especially ...

SP, Yep you can find the said Dizzy here, usually only surfaces to stir-the-pot or scab someones boat! Look him up in the Members section and ask him more questions, he loves to answer all the questions you have. Just ask one at a time on the PM. Did I say he loves questions? Fish an ABT or classic ...

Re: Scarborough Reef
Jay, You will have far more success fishing with plastics or hardbody lures in this area. If you don't have an electric bow mount motor drifting the wide rubble patches and casting down wind will get you onto the pinkies. Often fishing right on top of the reefs and amongst all the boats can get you ...

Re: Mud Island
Jay, Mud Island isn't that far out past the re-claimed river mouth. it can look a long way at times but is only a 15min trip in a tinny. Most conditions under 15knts is safe (dependant on the skipper) just as long as it wasn't blowing 30knts the night before. Mud fishes better when a bit of wind is ...

Re: WHY ????????
Import duty and freight then the retailer has to add his profit margin so they can try make a living, then add GST! which may actually go up soon. I believe NZ has increased their GST to 15% recently.
