Re: 2012 Tournament Angler Guide

Maybe you could do an article profiling some of the successful female anglers on the various Bream, Bass, and Barra circuts, could encourage some more girls to take it up. I recon some of the females competing now are real ground brakers and probably derserve more kudos than they get now.

Awoonga Gateway is not bad, about 4 k from the dam, plenty of room for the boats, pool too.

Please read if you go fishing on SEQWater controlled dams

Seqwater have an online survey going atm and the results will go a long way in determining our future access rights and what facilities we have at our dams in South East Qld. Later this year their master recreation plan will come out and it will tell us who can use which dams, what you can do there ...

Barry, I learned a long time ago never to try and analyse the actions of SEQWater.

BTW If it goes ahead at Maroon I'd be taking a fly rod and a couple of McSpecials

Basstasstic Tournament Series Grand Final

The Basstasstic Series Grand Final was held at Cania Dam on Nov 6-7. The top 30 anglers (15 from the southern zone & 15 from the northern zone) fished off for $3500 in cash & $3000 in prizes. The fishing wasn't too bad with over 1/2 the field registering a perfect 6 bass for the 3 sessions. Callum M...

Re: Bay 13

Assuming you're talking about Lake Somerset, it's on the western shore roughly 1/2 way between the ramp at "The Spit" (near the dam wall) and the ramps at Kirkleagh (Somerset Holiday Park). If you click on the link below, you'll find Bay 13 marked on the map, there's also a lot of good fishing info ...

Re: 36 hrs out of yabby's and still going

In the past we've pumped the yabbies on a Fri morn and used them live as late as Tue, even in the middle of summer. Break off the large claw as you're pumping them then when you get them home place the yabbies in shallow trays with the water ALMOST covering their backs, useing a few trays (or upside...

Re: Strudwick rods (again)

I think that Outermark (Strudwick) may have sold the last of their stock to Twinpeaks Leisure Co, they're the tackle discounters that come up from Syd every year for the Tinnie n tackle Show & the Bris Boat Show. They were selling SickStiks, Softbods & Hardbaits all for $70 at the boat show last mon...

Re: leader

Plenty of flurocarbons out there to choose from, depends on your budget. 150 mt spools of Vanish would be about the cheapest up to some very expensive (and very good) Japanese products. I like Nitlon myself but I know there is better around. Usually about the same strength or fraction stronger than ...

Boondooma is almost full Pete, maybe if I get a long run up at the spillway
I recon it will be the 6 knot zone they'll be on to anyway.
If I can get up there I'll be a nonboater.
BTW good luck for Wed nights game "NOT"

Re: Somerset BASS Pro- Moving to Kirkleigh

Maybe Greg & Shirley could get the bacon & eggs going at 5am for us as well Mal  Matt I just sorted a site with Mike Crieghton, but that's the way to go. It's $84 unpowered camping per site min, doesn't matter if it's 1 or 2 guys it's still $84 so it'd be cheaper to hook up with another angler....
