Personally, I like the Minn Kota Riptide. I have an RT55AP and love it. I use the autopilot function about 90% of the time its in the water. Not sure if the Motorguide has autopilot. If it did then it would be a harder choice for me.

Can you just use your electric even if you have a motor larger than 6hp motor fixed to the back? Can't see why not, but would not like to get up there to be told no. Would not be happy. Is there anyway I can find this out? How do I cantact?

Maybe bony bream or some sort of bait fish. Just guessing but have seen this sort of thing at Somerset. Was small baitfish feeding on the surface.

I agree with Fly1 in a way about the dumby spits. I have done them myself but from a PR point of view may not be good for the sport. My old man watch it today and said something about the dummy spit. Questioned if they'd carry on like that without the camera there. I do. I find it a good way to get ...

Thanks Mike. Was fishing with him on Sunday and didn't even remember to ask him. Every time I tie a surgeons note, its not straight, but kinked. Got me. Will just buy em. Easier for me that way. Hows the Bass fishing going?

Twisting Barra Leaders

Hi all. Just tried today to twist up some leaders for barra and am wondering what knot you guys use to finish off the leader with? Can't seem to get it nice and neat like the leathel leader ones are. Is there a special knot or am I just tying it wrong? Did read an article by Garry Fooks in last mont...

Paul, as far as I'm aware, most guys and girls run single frequency sounders for impoundments. Dual are designed more for offshore in really deep water. Have you considered going for a colour sounder? Have been told you can sometimes pick the species due to the swim bladder. But don't take my word f...

Have to agree with Steve there. Wanting to upgrade mine to maximum horsies now, but can't stretch the budget for a new donk. Should have done it when I bought the rig and spent the tiny bit extra.

Steve,
Any chance you can post the dates on which you will be filming each event so you those who wish to come down and have a bo-peak can do so? I know myself I wouldn't mind checking out some of the quality fish that these guys can catch.

I've just seen in the past where people put links up to websites on here where you can purchase things and the moderators haven't appreciated it. Thats why I thought I'd just check first to stay in the good books. So it is ok to put the link up to this website?

Just bought myself a couple a few hours ago. If you want to know where to get them from, send me a PM. Its an online website but I know that if I put the address on here it may get deleted because he's not a sponsor. Or if its ok Steve, let me know. He's got some good gear for the tournament angler....

I've got a 435 Hornet Trophy and had an old model RT36 mounted on the bow with the head turned around. Did the job till I could afford a RT55AP. The 50lber should be fine on your boat. I've used my new RT55AP to pull 2 boats around in the timber at Borumba one day. The other boat was a new 520 MakoC...

If you use the ramp near the kiosk you will need a 4wd to get your boat out with. Drops off fairly steeply. Best use the other ramp. It too is out of the water but you should have no problems there. Just stay out of the mud thats off to the side, as someone found out how slippery it is. Won't mentio...
