The anglers?

Not all of us fish for glory or money - personally I do it for enjoyment, and even though the Port River was almost the toughest ABT ever I still had a ball.

Don't go there  :D I got asked how many I'd done and couldn't answer. I knew it was over 30. I reckon a great tourney guide article would be something along the lines of "So, what's it all cost?" I've got this years spending/investment/hobby diary so I know what I spent............. lets just...

Port River ABT - Any Sydney Non Boaters want to go?

If there's any Sydney Non-Boaters who feel like travelling down for this one I'll be leaving Wednesday 3rd and arriving back in Sydney on the 8th. Pre-fish ride included, plus there's room in the accomodation organised as well.

Let me know via PM or 0410872537

My prop and skeg are missing some bark too - great to come in and be told to move as there is a rock in the way, back out into a foot of chop, swamp the rear end, come back in 4 foot over and get told you're now on top of it and it's too late  Thankfully my NB was quick witted enough to get th...

Classic GF question?

Theoretically, if there are 30 teams in a classic and the first 10 teams have already qualified for the classic GF does that mean that teams 11,12 and 13 qualify?

My Durahubs went on the trailer two years ago and I've seriously done around 50000klms on them, with a slight oil top-up needed on one of the hubs around 12 months ago. Other than that I've done no maintenence at all. The biggest trick is making sure they go on right and the inner seal is done corre...

'Dropping in' is technically someone fishing within 30 meters of you. I seriously doubt if 11 separate boats started fishing inside 30 meters of you. If any of them did, get boat rego numbers, take photo's/video on your phone and show it to the tournament director. I have fished upwards of 150 diffe...

Hope not 'cause I've done it (STC, not ABT). :D

Just a warning if you go down this road - prepare to pay through the nose, and have a good water separating fuel filter as some of them don't turn over the petrol too quickly.

My first 'tournament' boat was a 3.75 Horizon v-bow punt with a 20hp merc on the back. I took that boat everywhere from the Docklands in Vic to the Gold Coast in QLD. Almost everyone was bigger and faster and handled rough water better - nothing like a v-bow punt to test out the spine. I had some (n...

Hi Elvis, hope those Windsor 'Brown Bream' are treating you well :) She's got a Maxxum on the front now - still a tiller steer as I've found it pretty handy for fishing in the rough stuff. I can't find the information I put up, these days with the much better exchange rate as a rough rule of thumb i...

Re: Comparison?

Every model you have listed (excluding the Haines Hunter Prostrike which is a very well built strong Australian boat) are bargain basement built boats with next to zero features that an angler would want in their rig, Extremely light weight built with most of them listed with the most basic "old" t...
