Re: Daiwa BREAM Series- Draft Dates 2011

Well that was certainly a quiet one lots of discussion about dates and rules and everything else, yet the anglers had to wait until the entry forms are online to find out they're getting GOUGED even more if they want to participate. Obviously everyone must be flush with lots of cash in these outstan...

Re: Marina Fishing Rules Debate

As I love my hypotheticals here's another one: You're fishing the outside edge of a marina, completely muff the cast to go over a walkway, pontoon, rail etc and now have a lure inside the marina. You quickly wind it out. Have you done the wrong thing and need to be penalised? Or, same scenario, and ...

That's why I'm asking Dizz - I'm the same as you, only stopped fishing it when the format changed.

MegaBREAM suggestion

Howdy,

I'd like thoughts on moving back to a 10 fish limit for the MegaBREAM at Forster next year.

If the 'to the tip' rule is in play it will make it easier to get a full bag and more fish for the 'show'.

How's it sound?

Re: humminbird 1197c importing

There is a downside. Even though the GPS will work fine, you won't have temperature in Celcius only fahrenheit, speed/distance is limited to mph or knots and your time settings will be wrong as the US domestic version is only adjustable for a certain range. Warranty will be non-existant unless you s...

Re: DAIWA Australian Open Dates and Format Shift Ideas.

The critical point for me, irrelevent of format, is the 4 days needed mid week to fish it.

4 days off work equates to the same amount of leave required to fish 4 normal events with prefish, or two super series with prefish.

That's the only reason I haven't done it for a few years.

Re: The Million Dollar Question? (or not as the case was)

I had a bet on with a friend as to how long the old 'don't like it don't fish it' chestnut would take to come out - I said under 24 hours, guess I won. I'm not questioning anyones finances, but as a paid up verrrrry long time supporter of the ABT events surely I'm allowed to ask the question about d...

Re: The Million Dollar Question? (or not as the case was)

Interesting - Still nowhere near the value of a car or boat, especially considering the actual expense of fishing the individual events to get there. Splitting the teams GF prize is more value than the total offerered at the individual GF, personally that doesn't sit right. As usual I'm expecting th...

The Million Dollar Question? (or not as the case was)

So,

If the reasoning behind the GF prize last year being $10,000 and not a Ranger was that the venue (Darling Harbour) was so expensive then why was the GF prize this year only $10,000?

Hypothetical?

Does a late penalty have an impact on Big Bream eligibility? Example 1: We have 5 fish, one of which is 1.5kg for a total bag of 3.5kg. We are late by 10 minutes and penalised 1kg. We still weigh in the monster as Big Bream. Example 2: We have a one fish bag which happens to be 1.5kg. We are late by...

Re: New measuring system to be implemented at Vic tournament

I would still like a response as to why the rule changed for this venue, particularly after we entered knowing the rules as stated. You don't play cricket for half a season to be told 'it's alright boys, you get seven balls an over now'. You don't play a round of golf one week, then come back the ne...

Re: New measuring system to be implemented at Vic tournament

I'm assuming that's supposed to read "Anywhere from 28cm to 28.9cm will go back in the drink " I'm personally against it, and would have much preferred a survey or online poll to ask the question before the decision was made, irrelevent of the Tweed feedback. Changing the rules partway through a sea...

The Great Glenelg Road Trip

Hi all, As usual, I'm doing the big trip to the Glenelg River for the ABT Bream event. Leaving western Sydney around 3pm on Wednesday the 1st of September and coming back on Monday the 6th. If any non-boaters are keen to come just let me know - it's my personal favorite venue........ the Mulloway by...

Re: Bream Orders

No worries Mick :) I see how it's been applied to you, but I reckon it needs outlining a bit harder during the briefings. We all sort of know about the 'released alive' to count scenario, but even I've thought of keeping a couple for a feed. Probably would have if Bream didn't taste so bad. Flathead...

Re: Bream Orders

Just to clarify, 'cause I am a stickler for the 'hairy' rules......... Am I to understand that the fish were weighed in, left in the well to........ erm.......... spend some quality time together, discovered later, then DQ'd as they weren't released? I will swear black and blue that at previous even...

Ranking Question??

Howdy, I can't quite seem to work out how the "Rankings points accrue from an angler's best five events per year" part works?? (10 over two years with the best 5 per year??). Which event dropped out after Taree, and, how is the 'year' calculated? Eg. Where are we currently, compared to events last y...
