i fished the main strech of the narang today managed to put together a bag consisting of 26 26 26 27 32 to the fork, but fark me i saw schools of trevally(50-100fish) aroung the 3kg mark bunched up under and all around a bunch of pontoons opposite TSS but buggered if they would eat a lure from 2 lb straight through with 5inch jerk shad to a small "guzzler" my question is what were these fish doing in such large schools up the narang

Hi Chick Magnet,

They're in lovin' mode which makes them very one eyed at the moment. Come October/November they move back up river a little & start feeding again. We have some hot sessions on them using surface lures (mainly fizzers) around the lakes up past Pacific Fair.

I fished the lower Nerang this morning getting some practice in for the Flatty Classic. Got half a dozen from 45-63 cm's. My mate got a Golden Trevally on a grub that went 82cm. We thought he had the flatty of death at first.

Pretty impressive bream bag you put together there. Good luck.

Cheers,
