FSU4120 G

G'day all, just wondering if anyone has had a rod made up on an FSU4120 G ( G for graphite ). I have a nice overhead stick built on a conventional 5120 and used a 4120 off the rocks years ago, but have just ordered a 4120 G.
Anyone used one ?

If by 4120G you mean graphite - very light weight, very strong, super fast recovery, VERY thin walls. I broke 4 of the early ones comp casting.

You broke 4 ! Gees, must have been casting house bricks hey ? Yep, I'm hoping it's a touch lighter than the old 4120 once made up, and a touch more "crisp" as well.

I think it would have been more like 2 ozs than a house brick ,

The first 4120g were straight graphite, if the current ones are graphite top wrap over glass they will be nowhere near as fragile. Hope I didn't mislead you.

Leigh - mostly 4oz. Some batches were more durable than others but geez it hurt when they exploded under full pressure. Never found all the bits from one. Out in the middle of a footy field too, just disappeared.

jamie...just build it i have built 2 mine and my sons..we chase winter tailor..at hat head with them..you will get use to the weight difference and they are quick to load..and you will work out your lure weight to suit yourself..i cast 80 to 100 grams..bit my son casts 125 or more...but build the rod you wont be disapointed...bob

Having the 5120G built atm for Jewies/Snapper I like the fast taper.......the 4120 would be ideal for lighter work.

Can't find anything decent in that bracket off the shelf.
