how to post photos

Post by ken moran » Wed Jan 18, 2006 9:06 pm

I'm getting better at putting photos on the web so I thought others may like to know.

1. Take a photo with a digital camera (fishos interested may like a waterproof one) and then look at the photo you have taken to see if it is okay, if not take another. Then make a note of the number of the photo.eg 000013. Delete bad photos before making a note of the number,

2. Connect the camera to the computer, there is no way around this.
There is software for your camera that may pop up but it is bypassed in this exercise. Do a google search and type in imageshack one word.

3. Their screen has a 'browse' button, click that you will be taken to your computer 'place' and hopefully you can find your camera connected to the computer, possibly in 'E drive, removable disc' and click on image 13 , then click on 'host it' in imageshack.

3. That 'host it' chages to 'downloading' and after a while a long list of numbers and symbols appear and look for 000013, in the string, with something like 'for forums' next to it. This string of numbers is actually your photo, computers can do that.

4. Maybe click the left mouse key and highlight the entire string, right click and click on 'copy' or 'cut' .

5. Open a 'new topic', or a 'reply' to a topic and in the message area, a big oblong (rectangle) click 'paste' and a string of numbers and symbols appear. This is actually your photo. Type is some suitable words and you have a message with a photo in it. The string of numbers can be moved down the page, just like a word can be with the enter key.

Then click 'preview' to see what your message looks like. If it is okay click the 'back' button and send her.

6. Knowing some of you blokes ----FOR CHRIST SAKE ---check it is the correct the photo before you send it.

Ken,
Youy also have to reduce the size of your image. Your pic in the rod rest thread is 167kb where it should be between 50 and 60.
Cheers
John

Just logging to imageshack is part of it, but once there you find things you have yet to do. I'll work out how to reduce the size next, ta.
