2012 Daiwa Hobie BREAM Kayak Series Calendar

Post by Steve Morgan » Wed Nov 16, 2011 4:17 pm

Yakkers,

Here's a sniff of the 2012 Daiwa Hobie BREAM Kayak series dates. There's more ways to get the the big show than ever before.

Plenty of events are combined with powerboat events, but there are some stand alone kayak events, too, at some big-bream fisheries, like the Swan River in Tassie and Marlo.

Did someone say Grand Final at BEMM RIVER? The zero prefish will really sort out the men from the boys at the season-ending event.

What does the WQ mean? That's a qualifying event for the second Worlds (in the USA). Want to get to the world titles? Make sure you fish these....

Rules will be downloadable soon, but for now, get planning....

Cheers,

SM

Good to see a tassie round again next year and if the swan gives up some of its big bream i am not sure if the hobie livewells will be big enough :P .
Just one question has a decision been made as to where the start will be.

Cheers Butch

We were thinking down near the mouth at the township on the northern side.

Suggestions accepted!

Steve
Down the bottom IMO is definitely the best option for the start at that time of the year.Have launched from Dolphin Sands which is basically straight over the channel from Swanick which i think is where you are talking about and this gives plenty of fishing options .Not sure about accommodation at that time of the year but plenty of camping grounds not to far away if you don't mind roughing it.

Cheers Butch

To SM/Steve Fields

Apologies if this has been covered already but as i often do Tweed and Bribie as a NB in the ABT Bream events and am looking to do Kayak this year......

Where is the launch spot going to be for these two Kayak events?

Will be great to do weigh-in at the same place and all, but say with the Bribie event if the bay is closed due to poor weather how are we all going to fish the congestion in the passage esp when it's low tide?

The yakkers will have noisy p'boats flying past their noses, and if we launch in the same spot from the Boater point of view won't the yakkers hog the closer spots like flats at Ningi Creek mouth?

Really surprised there has not been discussion on this.......or has there been ?????

Cheers

Mick Randall.

Mick,

Just finished the Glenelg River event which is a much smaller arena than Bribie or Tweed. No problems - boats start first and yaks directly afterwards. Yaks finish 1hr earlier and weigh-in is done by the time the powerboats come in.

Sharing the water is standard with yaks/boats/social anglers on any given weekend.

SM

Thanks Steve, that's as i thought, just wanted to clarify as I thought others may have had issues with it and haven't seen any bad press.

Anyway look forward to fishing the events.

Cheers

Mick.
