Macdonald on fire

Post by Weilo » Sat Jul 10, 2010 8:57 am

I recently heard of a married couple catching 94 bass in one session at Lake Macdonald near Cooroy, so I thought I would have a go. The weather was great and I was able to locate a school near the dam wall. I was only at the dam for 2 1/2 hours and pulled in 34 bass, the biggest being 47cm and another 5 were between 40 and 45cm. Caught on blades and sliders.

I took the kids up a couple of days later except the wind was howling and it was freezing cold. We still caught fish in the half an hour we had a reprieve from the hurricane. My 5 year old boy caught a nice 39cm model which he is proud of. All caught on bllades.

In total for the 2 days we caught over 40 fish in just over 3 hours of fishing. Will certainly return soon.

Thanks to Davo's bait and tackle for the advice.

Nice work - good to see the lake fishing to its potential!

Borumba is doing the same right now. Blades are winning any where in the basin.
