skeeter with 90 etec or nitro with 90 optimax

Post by burnzie » Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:16 am

Looking at buying either skeeter with 90 etec or nitro with 90 optimax at the beginning of next year for some bream comps and was wondering which boat or motor people would recommend. any other boats people recommend would be a great help.
Thanks burnzie

I was at a nitro dealer on the gold coast a couple weeks ago and after talking to them they said they are starting to go away from nitro boats and get more into triton. So if you were going to buy it from them I would go skeeter instead. Only ever heard good things about Josh and the guys from skeeter. Also I thought it was a bit slack that the dealer on the gold coast wouldn't even give me a brochure of the triton bass boat range. I have a nitro 640lx and love it.

cheers,
Aaron

I have a Nitro 640, and love it.......... been the best investment I have made for my fishing expriences. The comfort and movability of the boat is awesome, I haven't really driven a Skeeta but would think they would be just as great mate.. Good luck in your choice but don't think you can go wrong......

Check out this link,

we have a few you tube clips of myself and my team mate fishing out of the Nitro 640

Good luck and Happy fishing

I don't think you can go wrong with a Skeeter. I have a ZX190 with the 150 HO ETec and I am very impressed.

burnzie,

It's like being a ford or holden man!

They are both great boats and noone can build boats like the yanks!

I have a Nitro 640 90hp optimax and it is a great boat but I would definatly look at other brands when upgrade time comes.
If anything the nitro is slower out of the hole but has a faster top speed, infact mine just catches up with Britto's Skeeter and he has a 115hp. I have heard really good thigs about how Josh at Skeeter looks after his customers (and they have a owners skeeter tournament - something the other brands don't do!).

would recomend both!

There is a great little triton that I saw for sale on breammaster at the moment http://www.breammaster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27085 From what I have seen tritons seem to leave skeeter and nitro in their wake when it comes to rough water handling, fitout, and general quality.

And the difference between Etec and opti is reliability, Opti having lots, and Etec having not much.

I will take a skeeter over a triton any day, fitout and finish are way ahead of tritons (sorry Dan)

Hey Lee

What do you reckon ?
Should we both get a video camera and tape ourselves hitting our boats with a hammer. And then we can see what really is the best Hahaha

Wood is good, Infact Balsa is still one of the best boat building materials around when used properly in hand laid hull.
Chooper gun= wood not so good.

Burnzie , I have sold Nitros for over the last three Years and have sold lots of them , Almost all the people I have sold them too are very happy with the boats.
I own a Nitro 640 for over two years and love it , I find the 640 is the best size of boat for my style of bream fishing and it handles the rough water really good , (just ask Darren love and Simon Saint  ) The top end speed is amazing for a 90HP Optimax and like a few guys said before I over take bigger boats with bigger HP all the time.
The only down side is taking off to get one plane but over time with differnt driving styles and set up its great.
I have drivin the bigger one like the Z7 and etc and I would have to say there one of best boats I have ever been in and I have been in alote of differnt brands.

But now at my work were have gone away from Nitros and now the Triton Dealer for Aus, the reason why we have done this is becasue we had hassles with the Importer and we could not get the stock and parts we needed for our customers. As a Triton dealer we can order boats and part direct from the factory , Triton is owned by Brunswick corp who owns Mercury witch is the biggest marine corp in the world , Boats have no wood so the boats lighter and longer gives you more top end speed and more room .

If you like to know more info about Nitros or Tritons call me ..

Scott..
