Marzy`s Magic

Post by siegfried » Wed Sep 23, 2009 11:43 am

Maurie Marsden was another great bloke I got to know better at Glenbawn recently. A real character & gentleman as well.
These are some of his treasures, the Trout Demons were given to the chief & he allowed me to photograph them together before he left for home( thanks mate).

Thanks to Maurie, I have a few more I`ll post up later.

I think these are brilliant displays, the pics just don`t do them justice.

Adam ( Gavin), that Splity would have to be one of the best uses of grain in timber that I`ve seen, it looks great, top pics mate.

You`ve got the full colour range of hats too, I think Poppy still only has the one.

I had a trip down to Maurie`s place last week.

Spent the arvo with him & was given a few more treasures.

Thanks Maurie & Alison.

Mounted on Red Cedar, this one has a great story.

I haven`t got to sort these out yet, but these are some early ones & one off`s & experimental lures Maurie has done over the many years he`s been making lures. As you could imagine I`m pretty exited to be the caretaker of these gems.

WOW... I see you have a bit of a problem Ziggy, running out of storage room mate.Too many Marzies could cause havoc amongst your other lures so you better send a few here.Or better still keep the Marzies and send me your RMG's and Seekers, they'll be safe with me

Looks like we've got Cod & Yellowbelly covered for the next decade or so Ziggy

It must have been a task putting them all out, just think, you have to put them away once you figure out how you want to display them.

Hope Lil' has you on a good hourly rate

Before you put them away, how about some close up photo's from 4 different angles of each individual lure so we can see Maurie's magic close up..???

G'Day Fellas,

Even if you're not into lures you have to appreciate the craftmanship and quality.

When Steve Morgan started posting all these Australian Made Lure Topics I kind of wondered why. Now I can see why. Now I can see why you dont actually use many of them and why they are mounted on display plaques.

Nice ones !

Geeze..... I may be becoming one of you guys !  I better get off to therapy before it sets in !

Cheers

Stuart.

Ziggy,

That'd have to be the biggest collection of MARZ lures in the country I'd think.

Very nice indeed.

I had a good look through them and it appears that you have at least one lure missing.

Here's one you don't seem to have from my very humble selection, a 5-1/2 Inch Goana    .

Can you enlighten us on the story behind the Bream Plaque Ziggy :?: Sounds sinister

Stuart, the time to act is now, don`t wait & don`t let it get hold of you. I`ve seen what it has done to a few of the fellas on here

Tony,

Maurie will & can do just about anything you might need.

He already has a few Barra lures in his stable & I think he loves the challenge if it`s something new.
