Newell Kadaitcha collectors box

Post by Alistair » Mon Oct 19, 2009 7:01 am

Thought I would post up this lure. Picked it up not long ago after seeing it on a work trip in the Hunter Valley and fell in love with it. Only 70 odd were made of the intended 200, this one is number 10. The lure has both the classic Newell sig as well as his checkbook style signiture and bother the Cert and lure has his thumbprint stamped on them. Because this was originally purchased to be used as a fishing prize, then kept rather than have some recipiant not appreciate what they had and take it out to fish with it never had anyones name put on the certificate. Definately this one takes pride of place in the collection .

PS, I am chasing a Newell lure keyring to go with the Sticker, Stubby holder and Hat that I have (I think thats all he made but if anyone knows of anything else let me know)

Very nice Alistair.
I wish more makers would do this sort of thing.

Yes, and if they did I wish that I was able to buy them when they are first released not years later. I heard of a person the other day that has 10 sets of the Deception shrimp boxes and paid $85 each for them. His wife thought he was mad when he got them.

What a fantastic centre piece for your collection Al, it takes the definition of mint to a whole new level with the blank recipients name on the certificate - truly unique and quite possibly one of a kind you'd think :P

And yes I would love to have a time machine too! I want a few miles of Pipeline George's Dollar an Inch Lures for a start! (or at least a few hundred yards worth!!!)

I like how the lure is mounted in the box too - what a top idea, it's given me inspiration for a display cabinet.... (oops my lure addiction just jumped to a whole new level)
Cheers,
Tony
