Post by siegfried » Fri Jul 31, 2009 3:56 pm

Maurie Marsden is another of the top lure makers from the Hunter Valley.A great bloke & makes a great lure.

"Marz" original Grooved Timber Lures are made at East Maitland NSW.

These are some of his Bot Flies,
The ones on the right are older ones.

Top looking lures man! Wasnt there a test done on them to show that they put a phenominal amount of vibration because of the grooves compared to a standard smooth body lure. :?:

Heath, I`m not sure about that, but I`ll ask Maurie when I`m talking to him next.If you are talking to Big bad BOB, he would probably be aware of any tests done on Marzy`s lures.

Nah mate, not the split rock. it's been around for a while

I was told but it had a rather insignificant sounding name, maybe why I've forgotten but it'll come to me eventually.

The Split- Rock Special is one of Maurie`s best I think. They are a big lure & measure 180 body,250mm overall.

This one`s a nudie & that makes it even better for me.( I put a Bot Fly with it )

Come on guys! lures have feelings too you know! if you dont swim them now and then they get mental health issues. Give it a swim just like a dog needs a walk. Oh, and I just thought id say, im clear coating a certain lure for "a special guy who posted in this section" a minute ago, and unfortunately I dropped it on the carpet just after dipping it in sealant! Its got fluffy bits and cat hair all over it now. But dont worry! I'll sort it out when it dries. Falky knows what im talking about!

Maurie has put together his new cataloge which I got a copy of last week. He has put a fair bit of work into it with pics in A4 of his lures in a hard cover folder. I call it my wish list  He tells me No.100 of the splitrock will be going up on the bay soon.

Chief, I took me camera but I've brought a dud set of rechargeable batteries that go flat in an hour so I didn't get any pics, not that there was much to take photo's of on the fishy side of things.I'm getting some group shots of the AGM e-mailed to me, I'll pass them on if you want, but, as you know there are going to be some VERY ugly men in these pictures.
