Richo's Lures

Qld's lure history starts in the estuaries, mostly cast than trolled. Made tough for tough fish, from pioneer Eric Moller to innovative Alan Dolan, check out Qld's history in lure making.

Richo's Lures

Post by TonyM » Wed Aug 12, 2009 3:07 pm

Here's a Richo's Extractor 11cm version

I think this one is fairly old, I don't know if he's changed the style at all over the years or whether they've stayed the same.

It seems to look a bit slimmer than the current model and the current black model doesn't have the red ander the chin.

I think I'll be giving this a throw next time I go to Monduran!

I'll have a hunt around tonight for you.
Early ones are signed and as Richo's eye sight went his wife took over doing it and then later it stopped altogether. Might have been a few others doing it for him over the years.
He still makes great lures, based in Yeppon I think. Barra Jacks in Rockhampton stock his complete range.

I'll have to grab a few when I head up that way next, I gave it a swim in the pool and I like the action.

I can't see a signature on it, if it is signed in black blowed if I can see it

I compared it to the ones listed by Barra Jacks and they seem a slightly different shape in the body
Cheers,
Tony

Here's a signed one, It reads "LITTLE TERRER" RICHO LURES
By far my favorite Richo Lure.
I had a nice white one once, signed. But I had disagreement with a fellow named Jack, and he kept it.

This one just reads LITTLE TERRER. But it's written by the same person, I believe Richo himself.

This is what the LITTLE TERRER looks like.
Swam for the pink one more than once.

This one has finer writing, I'm told by his wife.
