Made from Huon Pine in Tassie, still sells a few on the web. Very nice bloke, easy to talk to and always eager to help.

Nice lures tagged, made by a true gentleman & excellent craftsman.

I've got a couple more somewhere that i'll photograph and post pics of.

These are some of Carl's 1st lures with an unusual "H" stamped on the belly.

These are the only 7 lures Carl stamped so I'm told which were done for a journalist review around 14 or so years ago.

Made from the very sweet smelling Huon Pine which is believed to be the oldest living tree in the world.

These fizzers were the 4 original patterns in the 2 original sizes Carl made.

Patterns are Top to Bottom: Frog, Spotted Dog, Grub & Black Glitter

Heath, the chief would probably have more room for a few lures if he thinned out a few of those old Rapalas.

Do you actually fish with these lures or just hang em in the shed???

I grabbed a surface fizzer and the dam thing sank. More like a total fizzer in reality.

No more Hueys for this lad.

Carl does make some weighted lures and perhaps he accidently sent you one instead of a floating lure.

Huon Pine is very buoyant so I’m guessing this is what’s happened.

On the flip side many lure companies produce sinking, suspending & floating fizzas, walk-the-dog style lures & even bloopers. Some companies make floating buzzbaits as well although we rarely see them in Oz.

Sinking fizzas are fantastic fish catchers and can be still used as a surface lure. You’re probably lucky to have one and should give it a floggin. Nothing better than to have a fish hit it on the surface or sub surface and pause it so it slowly sinks giving the fish a good 2nd chance at what it thinks has been a kill.

In answer to your question re fishing them or not, yep I’ll fish anything!

Surprisingly Goodoo, I don't lose that many lures.

Ziggy, when the day comes mate, don't you think mounting this lure with a background pic of it hanging out of a Cod's mouth would look fantastic???
