Marine Safety Victoria - Minimum Safety Equipment

Post by marcel_krieger » Tue Oct 26, 2010 12:52 pm

Competitiors using a boat in either this weekend's Skeeter BREAM Classic Championship at Metung or the Daiwa BREAM Grand Final at Mallacoota please be aware of the minimum safety equipment needed on board your vessel.

Links can be found here http://www.marinesafety.vic.gov.au/web3 ... enDocument
or here http://www.marinesafety.vic.gov.au/doi/ ... ticker.pdf

As ABT has acquired the appropriate Aquatic License for the venues the Gippsland Ports Authority are aware that we will be conducting tournaments in these locations and may have officers on duty to check both safety equipment and fishing licenses.

Just to be clear..........

Are the events being run on what is considered "Bays and Estuaries" or "Lakes, rivers and Dams"?

One means you need an extra $100 worth of flares and the other doesn't
If everybody in the history of mankind thought the glass was half full, we'd all still be sitting in a cave with half a glass

Guys, spoke to the water police last week and was informed that they will be at Gippsland lakes this weekend for sure. Watch your speed in the rivers, 5 knots only. Flares ARE required, pfd 1 at all times if boat is 4.8 or under meaning can't take it off while fishing as you are deemed to be underway if not at anchor.
