Post by tony_huskisson » Mon Nov 17, 2014 5:51 pm

There are just days to go until 47 competitors from all the mainland states will descend on the Western Australian fishery of South Yunderup to contest the 2014 Hobie Kayak Bream Series Grand Final presented by Daiwa.

The competition waterway, situated on the Murray and Serpentine systems, provides an incredibly diverse venue for this year’s grand finalists, from the river systems themselves, to the flats of Peel Inlet and the extensive network of man-made canals, there is going to be something for every style of kayak angler.

Things kick off from the foreshore of the River Resort Grounds, Tatham Road, South Yunderup, Western Australia on Friday, 21st of November when anglers are allowed on the water in the grand final kayaks for the first time between 10:00am – 2:00pm to familiarise themselves with the arena and the kayak they will be fishing out of for the event. There is strictly NO fishing in the tournament arena on Friday 21st of November.

Anglers will be provided with their brand new Hobie Cat Australasia, factory supplied, 2015 Hobie Mirage Pro Angler 12 kayaks, fully rigged with a Lowrance Elite-5 CHIRP fish finder, Hobie Livewell, Hobie Anchor trolley, Hobie Drift Chute and Hobie Stake out pole.

The Lowrance Navigation day is a strictly NO FISHING day that will go some of the way to leveling the home advantage of the West Australian contingent when interstate anglers will get a closer look at the system as they sound the waters for the first time.

Registration will take place from 5:00pm till 5:30pm Friday the 21st of November followed by the briefing which all anglers must attend.

Session Times
Start times for Saturday and Sunday will be advised at the Briefing.
Finish time on Saturday the 22nd of November will be 3:00pm.
Finish time on Sunday the 23rd of November will be 2:00pm.

The Grand Final winner will be granted a slot in Australian Fishing Championships (AFC) representing Team Hobie as well as sponsors packs and prizes.

Not long now stay tuned for more updates!
