Bassin' State of Origin Comp

Post by Steve Morgan » Mon Dec 13, 2010 1:55 pm

Bassers,

By all reports, an awesome event on Glenbawn for Carl's fundraiser! Well done Bruce A and the team.

Didn't bother to read the fine details, but by all accounts, it looks like there were a couple of Queenslanders on top of the scoreboard!

Good work, Maroons....

:)

Steve,

I think Casey Stoner carried Timmy and Carl to bring it home for a FishNBits win. He fishes better than he rides a bike.

Wasnt it a NSW angler that got that big bass for them in session 1 that gave Tim and Carl the win I think it was.

As I said above - not too interested in the specifics ... like any own-goals from NSW bassers....

:)

I hear that Queensland won the bidding wars as well??

Pull your head in Richo.
Don't think too many people were worrying about the State V State thing.
I fudged the figures with the averages anyway. Wasn't all that fair the way we worked it out. A good penciler will beat a good angler any day.

Yep you guys did win the bidding war Steve. You have one very generous fella up there in Queensland. Not just how he supported Carl but the generosity he also showed a young son of one of our regular competitors who received a nice gift from him as well. Cheers Pete.

Tuggawar was won by NSW due to big David Mudds effort anchoring the team. Ash Simms took on Bruce Anderson in an arm wrestle and got smashed. Simmo and Killer won the drinking for Queensland on Saturday night and John Schofield also won the most perfect head of hair competition for QLD.
Thanks to all those who travelled long distances for the event being so close to Christmas and a special thanks to Timmy Morgan for his efforts in getting all the prizes together and for his expert interviewing technique at the presentation and his back flip during the tuggawar.
Enjoyed the weekend very much.... A great bunch of people coming together for what I think was a very fitting send off for Carl.
