Blue Fin Boats BASS Electric Convention- Press Release

Post by Simon Goldsmith » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:08 pm

BASS Action Electric Style

The 2012 Blue Fin Boats BASS Electric Convention hits the waters of Queensland’s Hinze Dam, 227/28th October, for one of the most anticipated events of the 2012 BASS calendar.

The scene of the inaugural BASS Electric Convention in 2004 this year’s convention will see Hinze Dam used as a BASS Electric venue for the first time in many years.

“Hinze Dam has always been one of the more popular venues on the BASS Electric tour, it’s been a few years since we’ve been there because of the development that they’ve been doing, so we’re (ABT) excited to be heading back ”, explains ABT Tournament Director Simon Goldsmith.

Anglers are similarly excited about the prospects of what Hinze holds come October, as 2004 BASS Electric Convention Winner Ian Galloway explains.

“The lake has changed a lot over the last twelve months, the water level has risen a lot and the lake looks very different. I don’t think anyone will have a real advantage leading into the event, so it’ll make for an even playing field at the Convention. One thing for certain though, we all can’t wait to get back and fish Hinze”.

For the first time in the event’s history anglers will have their accommodation provided as part of their entry fee into the event.

“We have exclusive use of a camp (http://www.thelogcabincamp.com.au) that’s only 20 minutes from the lake. There’s bunk style accommodation, cooking facilities, boat parking, and inside seating for the briefing and presentation. It’s got everything that we could possibly need. All the anglers need to do is turn up and enjoy themselves”, explained Simon Goldsmith.

Series sponsor Blue Fin Boats couldn’t be more excited about the event, with new owners Brad Richey and Geoff Knight looking forward to attending their first BASS Electric Convention.

“It’s a new beginning for Blue Fin Boats this year. We’re looking to reinvigorating the brand and our products, and the BASS Electric Convention is an event where we have the opportunity to show tournament anglers what we have to offer”, explained Brad.

The Blue Fin Prize Boat on offer at the convention echoes their intent to give customers, or in the case of the Convention, tournament anglers what they want.

“This year we’re going to put together a single, larger sized boat that matches perfectly the needs of bass electric anglers. The objective is to produce a boat that will then be used on the circuit the follow year. To go with the boat we’re working on putting together a promotional package for the winner when it comes to the boat and its use on the tournament scene in 2013”, explained Brad.

Full details on the prize package will be released later in 2012.

For anglers who have qualified for the Convention the focus is now on pre-fishing and getting Hinze wired come October. For anglers still yet to secure a berth 11 qualifying events remain to book a spot in the final.

Simon,

Its great to see you took on board all the comments raised at last years convention by the anglers. Cant wait to fish this one at hinze as the playing feild will be level due to the changes with the dam.

Cheers

It will be the same price for all. We're still doing the final costings for the event, it will more than likely be $220 though.
