I still find it a little strange that back in the day I would use a 60L esky and a $10 aerator and keep four bass alive and healthy with no redness or fin damage all day.

Im still a sceptic I'm not convinced, all I can say and I'm speaking for a lot of people if it keeps up you won't have any one to beat because no one will bother about fishing the electrics If they have lost before they start, start fishing the pro's you will break all the records if you really are that good but if you like being the big fish in the little pond that's your prerogative!

dave, you are truely an outstanding angler, you seem to be able to do things that no one else can, traveling to the furthest reaches of a Dam,regulary catching trophy sized fish, useing the most unusal lures and putting all local anglers to shame with little to no pre-fish. KVD eat your hart out!

Dave you and I have spoken before about the condition of your fish presented. If it was purely a livewell issue than you would have had this problem with two different boats and two different livewell set ups. The latest excuse of your livewell being overfull and the fish coming into contact with the lid is just rubbish these are electric boats that are non planing the fish bouncing around in the livewell at 10 kilometers per hour would probably not be harmful to the fish. The only issue I can see would be the heat exchange with the lid of the livewell being in the sun all day. A simple over flow from the livewell to the outside of the boat would reduce the water level and improve the aeration. If the fish are experiencing fin damage due to an overfull livewell it would be damage to the top fins not the bottom fins as presented in bass weighed in by yourself in comps, an example Isis Dam Electric Bass Round last year.

What concerns me is that you have been weighing in bass for the past two years with torn fins and red in the tail, surely your livewell issue should have been sorted out long ago in respect to the health of the fish, why is it only now that you have worked out what is causing the issue and hopefully in future will allow you to present healthy fish for weigh in.

Dave I am looking forward to competing at Hinze on a level playing field.

I've caught plenty of bass with red spot on their fins, mouth & tail.

They have all been caught in the north coast rivers & never in a dam though.

I decided not to fish any electrics this year for various reasons.

I always thought that the idea of the electrics was for them to be
a stepping stone to fishing the bigger events & so find it a little strange
that anglers that are so successful in these tournies rarely go on to bigger
& better things.

Each to their own I suppose.

Congrats on your success Dave.

Dave's prize boat was set up by the ABT wasnt it, flowrite pumps, blue fin live well design ???? hope they have set this years boat up correct.

its not a great advertisement for Blue Fin if the live wells aren't good !!

OK. I think we've had enough bashing for one post.

I'm sure that everyone will be keeping a close eye on everyone else at the Convention!

I'm locking this post, as there have been no constructive fish-care ideas for a while.
