Drew,

Pre/Practice fishing is allowed until midnight the evening before the event. No pre-fishing allowed on the day of the event.

Yes there will be a kayak comp run concurrently with the Mondy Barra Trophy.

Sorry its taken me a while to finalise the rules and get them to ABT to post.

Barra Yakkers General outline
Teams comp - find a yakker mate to buddy up with, teams to stay within 200m of each other for safety and capture verification (to take photos of each other)
Three five hour sessions, catch photograph release, 3 barra per team per session
Session starts/finishes half an hour after Barra Trophy Boaters.
Yakkers will be restricted to Main Basin and part of Bird Bay, Boaters restricted from these areas.
Trolling or casting allowed for Yakkers,

Cheers,

Matt

Excellent stuff Matt,

Word on the street is that there are approx 8 starter teams so far for the yakkers event. Roll on October 8)

Hi Matt

Is there any thoughts on getting a group/s to run have a BBQ on Friday and Saturday night ?? I am hearing from a few kayakers who are going to "rough it"
Maybe the local stocking group and/or a fishing club ?? great way to get extra funds..

Hi Lawrence,

I will look into it, and post details closer to the event. At this stage, I will try and organise something for the briefing, and at the presentation.

The yakkers are really getting into this event, its only early, but I'm tipping we will have more Yak teams than Boating teams.

Cheers,

Matt

Hi Matt

A quick question (SM may be able to answer) are the kayak teams going to have supply there own brag mats for this event or are they being supplied like they did in the Bass rounds ??

ABT have a stack of bragmats, about 20 from memory. So you don't need to buy one, but for those who have their own, please bring it along.

Cheers,

Matt
