Wind and casting

Post by Jeremy Schrader » Tue Aug 14, 2012 8:28 am

It was interesting to see how the wind affected our casting the other week, whilst very strong and gusty it didn't aid the distances as much as you would have thought.

On the first point whilst strong i.e near gale force at time it was pushing along the grouund so had the effect of pulling the leads down via the line drag. Also the gust conditions made it harder to manage the mag setting, come of a little to early and have the lead hit with a gust made for some lively reels
another thing was the impact to balance and timing of the back swings especially with the lighter leads.

Still great fun being out and looking forward to this weekends comp down here in OZ.

Here's some of the video footage that was taken.

Comments welcome. :D
