09/10 Bream Team Series presented by GAMAKATSU

Post by vinnie » Thu Nov 05, 2009 4:24 pm

This year sees the Bream Team Series presented by GAMAKATSU expand their event south to new waters due to its popularity last year. We will be running events from Bribie Island to Nelsons Bay to make a total of 9 events that can qualify you for the Gamakatsu Teams Series Grand Final.

Thats right, just by fishing the GTS events, the top 6 qualify at each event ending up with the top 56 anglers of the series (Including 08-09 GF winners and TOY) to compete for the largest series teams event prize in Australia. They will have a chance to compete for a Tabs tournament boat with Evinrude ETEC valued at over $25,000 for 1st place with others also getting good returns.

With that sort of cash and prizes on offer on top of the standard prizes each round, that's right the prize packs are still available in each round as well as the random giveaway packs. With all these prizes on offer, why not give it a go. This year will see the GTS hand out over $100,000 in cash and prizes.

The Gamakatsu Teams Series will be run on the following dates:

* 22nd Nov 09 – Bribie Island
* 10th Jan 10 – Forster
* 14th Feb 10 – Gold Coast
* 28th Mar 10– Clarence River, Iluka
* 2nd May 10 – Manning River, Taree
* 6th Jun 10 – Richmond River - Ballina
* July - Gold Coast - Nerang River
* 8th Aug 10 – Nelsons Bay
* 5th Sept 10 – Port Macquarie
* 17 October 2010 - Grand Final - Tweed River, Tweed Heads - Sponsor Tabs Boats & Evinrude ETEC

We would like to thank and welcome our all our sponsors new and old

Should be another great season, well done guys.

Just one thing, I can't find any starting times here or on the gamakatsu site.

Tony,

$150 per team, I read in a earlier post. Have done a fair few of these over the past 2 years the comps are well run with heaps of good giveaways.

Yeah there certainly is a TOY running again this year, It will be best of 6/9 events. The GF doesn't count towards TOY points, This year the idea has been suggested that points are the total accumulation of weights multiplied by 10.

I.E. If over your best six round you catch 25kg of fish you will be awarded 250 points, fish one round and get a 3kg bag you receive 30pts.

This will be confirmed at the first briefing, then a rule change will be noted on the website

Regards
Vinnie

GTS,
what are the rules for shutting down the bay (wind speeds etc) on Bribie Comp, would be good to know before the day to plan an attack!
