BASS Pro Boater Rankings - Movers and Shakers after StClair

Post by Steve Morgan » Mon Feb 18, 2008 2:28 pm

Bassers,

After the year's first Skeeter BASS Pro round, there's some movement in the Rankings. This is the first event where 2006 events start dropping off, so points can go both up and down after the event - it depends on how well you did at StClair ... and the points you lose from Glenbawn in 2006.

DEBUTANTS
Rank Previous Angler State
54 nil Gregg Flett NSW
63 nil Mick Elsley NSW
80 nil Jody Vernon NSW
86 nil Les King NSW
87 nil Craig Shiels QLD
91 nil Troy Urquhart NSW
94 nil Steve Lowcock QLD
99 nil Jami Kanowski QLD
105 nil Ron Scott NSW

RISING

Amongst a raft of 'risers', Greg Parkes' solid finish shot him up the list, with Blue Acres' Steve McDonald and Ballina's Adrian Melchior also clocking up double-digit rises.

Ranking Previous Rise First Name Surname State Points
56 97 41 Greg Parkes NSW 35
58 82 24 Steve McDonald QLD 34
35 45 10 Adrian Melchior QLD 97
24 33 9 Andrew Pulbrook NSW 112
53 61 8 Wayne Parry NSW 41
59 67 8 Kylie Cornish NSW 33
52 58 6 Glenn Helmers NSW 43
71 76 5 Peter Jenkins NSW 23

FALLING

Failure to add St Clair points coupled with the drop-off of Glenbawn 2006 led several anglers to fall in the rankings - especially that one-shot-wonder from Queensland who won that event and should have given up while he's ahead.

Ranking Previous Fall First Name Surname State Points
102 94 -8 Matthew Webb NSW
65 53 -12 Ian Black QLD
75 60 -15 Kristoffer Hickson NSW
106 84 -22 Scott Greentree NSW
107 54 -53 Steve Morgan QLD

TOP TEN

There's a bit of a shakeup in the middle order of the top ten. Carl drops to a narrow second while Motty rises from 8th to 4th and narrows the substantial gap between the top three and the rest of the field. Simmo and Mick Pascoe also jump up, while Steve Almond and Justin Scott sink down with poor StClair finishes.

Finally - and importantly, Queensland stamps its dominance on the BASS scene with 7 of the top 10 anglers Maroons!

Ranking Previous First Name Surname State Points
1 1 Stephen Kanowski QLD 324
2 1 Carl Jocumsen QLD 318
3 3 Tim Morgan QLD 305
4 8 Matthew Mott QLD 242
5 7 Craig Simmons QLD 232
6 5 Kerry Symes QLD 220
7 11 Michael Pascoe NSW 207
8 4 Stephen Almond NSW 192
9 6 Justin Scott NSW 189
10 10 Mike Connolly QLD 187

Movers and Shakers

Post by Bruce Anderson » Tue Feb 19, 2008 3:38 pm

Don't know what happened to the post ??

Anyway if we get our butts kicked again at Sommerset a game of footy should even things up.

NSW Team.

Mark Mangold :x - Benny Pepperall - Garry Hardman ( Front Row )
David Mudd - Mick Elsley ( Second Row )
Gregg Flett ( Lock )
Wayne Parry - Mick Pascoe ( Halves )
Steve Almond - Andrew Pulbrook ( Centres )
Danny Robinson - Glen Casey ( Wings )
Josh Batterson ( Fullback )

Adrian Melchoir
Allan McNamarra ( Reserve Forwards )

Mick Collins
Kris Hickson ( Reserve Backs )

Vicki Winter ( Manager )
Kylie Cornish ( Strapper )

Mick Starkey ( Coach )
Justin Scott ( Assistant Coach )

Greg Parkes - Bruce Anderson ( Selectors )

This team will probably be subject to change due to a few injury worries after the 1st round clash at Lake St Clair , but nothing too serious.

As you can see it looks to be a pretty well balanced team right across the park. A little bit of age there but plenty of experience which should get us across the line.

Sorry Stevo, you put me in as a debutant, which isn't exactly true, I just fished crap most of last year and didn't manage a result.

Rossco,,

Greg and I are the brains behind this team. This team has been well selected and will be well managed, I think 2008 is going to be a good year for the blues.
Do you guys really think that Motty is a match for Mango ??

Anyway Rossco I am pretty sure I know what you will be hammering me with big guy.
