Wivenhoe BASS Electric (20th July)-Must read for competitors

Post by aussiebasser » Wed Jul 09, 2008 11:21 am

Hi All,

With the comp coming up soon, just a note to all prefishers. Last year some people forgot that Wivenhoe is an Electric Power only dam during their prefishing. Some were absent mindedly racing all over the place. The Rangers will be actively enforcing the rules this year.

I am planning on fishing my first comp an Wivenhoe. Only been there once and that was years ago. Do you still need to get the "other" permit ? From memory there was something other than the SIP required ?

You'll need a SIP and Seqwater boating permit.

The SIP you'll need before you get to the event, the boating permit you'll be able to get the morning of the event if you don't have already have one.

Cheers

Simon.

There's a section on the entry form that you can use to renew. It'll be processed the following week.

To answer a few of the questions put to me:

Wivenhoe is an Electric Only dam. You can leave your petrol motor on, however if you start it you will be disqualified. No exceptions.

There is no concrete ramp available. Launching will be from hard packed dirt.

No, I don't know where the fish are!

Yes, it will be cold.

I will be in a purple ute, but it will be dark and everything will be black.

I'm not sure yet where we're launching as I haven't been to Billies since late last year. Simon will let us know the best spot.

No, I don't know where the fish are!

I concur they're in the water.

I'm heading out on Tues, since I'm not fishing the comp (wife is making going to a friend's childs christening) I'll let you know what I find.
