2009 Entry Fees

Post by Steve Morgan » Mon Dec 15, 2008 3:27 pm

ABTers,

I think we've struck a good compromise for 2009 Entry Fees. Each series will have a "Boater" entry or "Pro" entry option. The difference between Boater and Pro entry fees are paid back at 100% (after GST) - pot will vary according to number of Pro entries received.

TAG goes to print on Friday. The guys should have entry forms for 2009 available for download by the end of the week. These can be sent in, however, entries don't open until January.

BASS PRO
• Non Boater $100
• Boater $165
• Pro $330

BREAM Qualifier
• Non Boater $110
• Boater $120
• Pro $330

BREAM Super Series
• Non Boater $110
• Boater $250
• Pro $500

Cheers,

2009 Entries

Post by Andyh » Mon Dec 15, 2008 4:11 pm

Steve,

Sounds good, however can you please give us an example of how it all works, lets say 50 boaters, 50 non boaters and 15 Pro entries...Also can you enter as a boater for the $120, then before the entries close add the Pro money on or does it have to be done all in one hit.

Thanks
Andy

Andy,

Since you didn't advertise your prize boats on the tournamentboats site as requested .... no.

For everyone else, here's a payback model for a BREAM Qualifier. 90% payback on entries with 100% payback on Pro entries.

BREAM QUALIFIER

Non-Boater $110
Boater $110
Pro $330

Number of Boats 50
Number of Pros 20

Regular Payouts Percentage
1st $2,750 25
2nd $1,430 13
3rd $1,100 10
4th $880 8
5th $770 7
6th $660 6
7th $550 5
8th $440 4
9th $440 4
10th $440 4
Big Bream $440 4

Pro Payouts Extra Percentage
Based on Pros = 20
Pro Pool = $4,000

1st $1,600 40
2nd $1,000 25
3rd $600 15
4th $400 10
5th $400 10
Total $4,000 100

Sorry this looks a little messy - cut-and-pasted from Excel.

Steve,

Sounds good, gives people some options. One question, will we be advised who is going in the comp as a pro or boater? The only reason I ask is that it gives the "pro" guys a idea of the payout they are playing for and where they are ranking in relation to each other on day one.

AH,

Only $20 for a picture ad on the TB site ... and all money goes to ABT.

Yes, you can option-up at any time. You can't option-down after a crappy pre-fish!

"Pro" entries will be identified.

I may be a little simple but stop me when I'm wrong.!
So will there now be 3 divisions Non Boater, reg Boater and Pro ,all fishing for their own prizes ?
So in theory if a reg boater comes , say 8th overall but 1st out of the reg boater, he wins his division ? and vise versa ?
And will the rankings points still run in order of win ?
And GF positions are still in order of overall win?

Sorry if they are silly questions, I got up at 3 this morning to chase jack  and am a little tired now

Mick,

Everything is exactly the same except the choice of entry fee and your payouts if you choose the higher entry fee.

Steve,

Thanks for the reply, thats really good, now i can enter as a normal boater, then if i have a good pre fish i can pay the extra and step up to a pro, if i have a bad pre fish i can stay as a normal boater. Now i now you are going to say comps aren't won on pre fishes but the info you get from the day still helps.

Personally i think this should not be the case and all pro entries must be received before the pre fish day. Just my opinion though.

Oh great i get to donate another $20 to ABT, nothing's for free anymore is it?

Have a good day.

Andy,

Actually, all ABT members get free ads on www.tournamenttackle.com.au. Or you can put a free boat ad up on www.tournamentboats.com.au - it just has no pics with it.

Beats giving the cash to a company that doesn't support your sport....

And I'm sure you'll have big enough nuts to put your money down at the time of entry regardless ... seriously, how many times over the years have good prefishes bitten you in the bum .... and vice versa!

Cheers,

If a boater doesn't option up maybe that option should be offered to the field. For example Andy doesn't option up 'cos of a bad pre-fish...I have every faith in him so I pay the option, he wins, and I get the money! Too easy.

Chris,

Actually, that's a better idea than you may think. Sort of like a Calcutta in the old game fishing comps.

Chris,

I like that idea too, you could be running the race and have other horses too, bring that on SM, imagine winning the event and not backing yourself as a pro, then someone like Seamonkey took up the option and takes home more money than you do...LOL

Chris, wanna buy a boat, I see your in the market...

Don't worry Andy...I've seen your boat on that very expensive advertising site! Bit out of my range at the moment but hey, a few months of illegal gambling...err sorry mean't to say using the option up system to my advantage... and you never know :P

Steve

I can see the full prices for the Bream Pro Super Series, but where is the one for the 2 Bass Pro Super Series events. Are these now just to be run as normal events.

Wayne,

BASS Pro boater entries are the same as last year.

Correct amounts are on the entry forms.

Hey Morgo,

The new format sounds good especially if you can option up at a later date but still get your entries in early for a good starting position. Should save a few dollars in the short term. Have a good Chrissy all.

Adam.

Steve
I see Tracka has already asked this question, however it looks as though you haven't totally answered the question. Why are the Bass rounds $165 for a boater and the Bream rounds $120? Is it to raise the prize money for the lower number of competitors?
Thanks

Bill,

It just is. A few years ago we made the gap bigger between BASS Pro boaters and non-boaters because we had too few non-boaters. The difference in entry fees helped fix that problem.

Hi Forum,

Just new to this site and I am thinking of hooking up... But I can't see any where on here where the Question that Bill and Tracka have asked about the Price for Entry has been answered, can anyone out there explain it to me please!!! I can not accept "IT JUST IS" or what ever the BS reply was...

I hope someone can put some light of this for me...

Thanks

Dazza,

Welcome to the site ... nothing like a demanding first-post, huh?

What is YOUR question you'd like answered?

Cheers,

SM

BTW, the BASS Pro entry fees are set to provide a balance between number of boats/non-boaters and payouts.

Hi Steve (SM),

I just saw the question that Trackka had asked and Saw Bob asked the same thing, and I to was wondering why the Difference in the prices...

I was hoping someone could explain why? As I say your answer "it just is or it is the same as last year" Just because something is the same as last year is it right?

I was hoping the Formum / Room could help me to understand!!!! Also I don't think it was Demanding to start with....
