Bassmaster Classic 2009

Post by Billfish » Wed Feb 18, 2009 3:24 pm

It starts this week and ESPN are showing it this Sunday. It's on so quick this year because Kim Bain is representing us Aussies. Viewing times are:

Sunday 12.30pm - 2.00pm for day 1 action.
2.00pm - 4.00pm for day 2 action
10.00pm - Midnight for day 3.

While I'm here, are you a fan of the American Bass shows like the Bassmaster Classic, Elite 50, Bass Tech etc etc which are normally shown on ESPN and wonder where they are not on the air these days?

After showing a few episodes of the Bassmasters and Elite 50 series earlier in the year these shows simply disappeared from the airwaves.

I for one miss them and know quite a few guys who also watched them regularly and have asked what happened to them.

Well I have it on good authority that all of these programs were removed from the schedule because ESPN has determined they do not rate (how they determined this I don't know) and there are no immediate plans to bring them back.

If you are a fan and want them back on air I lets get a petition going. Put your name down here and I will take up the fight with ESPN.

Thanks for the times.

Count me for the petition, they are the best thing on ESPN. I can't believe a fishing show rates lower than some of the other obscure sports they have on.

Thanks

Nathan

Count me in for the petition as well. I can't see how they have removed these shows and replaced them with hours of sportscenter live. It is absolute carp.

I was considering getting payTV for the fishing shows but I guess I won't now. Count me in for the petition.

That amazes me that it does not rate then they put hours of crap like sportscentre live, which by the way I have not watched nor never will.
Hope they can move it all to another channel like the the kickboxing and mixed martial arts now showing on Fuel TV.
I'm in get it going or give it to another channel.

Bill,

I'm super pissed-off because I got Foxtel connected mainly for the US BASS events.

When my contract is up, it'll get disconnected if there's still none being broadcast. Cheaper to buy them on DVD from the USA.

On the plus side, I think that AFC is broadcasting on Fox Sports ATM.

Isn't that typical!!!!
I logged in the three of them yesterday ok. Trust ESPN to change it again, they do it all the time.
I would have been the last day down when I came to watch. I am on away from Sunday morning so I have to tape them to watch them.

Put me down as well.
I got Austar on for the main purpose to watch the Bass fishing. I enjoyed watching the FLW, Bass Elite series, Bass Tec,Worlds Greatest Fishing Show and Bass Master Classic plus the odd hunting show tossed in there to. They said ratings are down. How about starting them in daylight hours insted at 4 oclock in the morning. They may get a shock as to how many more would tune in. They wonder why people get it disconected.

Had to be one of the most boring fishing programs I have had the displeasure of watching. Filled with sexist comments from hillbillys who should think before they open their mouths about woman anglers. If they are representing the self proclaimed 'Best" fisherman in the world, they really should work on their on screen presentations, when they get home to their respective trailer parks.

Some one really needs to inform the commentators that their underwater shots are just animations, when they "Show the folks at home what is happening beneath the surface', at least put some thing interesting in to the cartoon, like a monkey playing a banjo, as the bass swims past. I feel sorry for Kim when she has the likes of those rednecks to contend with, she would have to be one tough lady.

God, give me the AFC any day.
