German manufactured Torqeedo is recognised as a leader in the field of electric motor technology. It seems that almost yearly there are new advances in sonar technology. For long periods, small changes were the norm with nothing out of the ordinary coming out, that is to say, nothing mind-blowing. Now we are lucky enough to get to see exciting new products almost yearly!

A new product that stood out at the Tinnie and Tackle show earlier this year was the Hot Box. The Hot Box is a portable outdoor stove, much like an old Billy stove of yester year but with some pretty fancy modifications allowing it to be portable and travel friendly.

I just love it when new technology comes along that makes a real and measurable difference. This, for me, occurred with the introduction of the Tairyo Nano series of rods, a series of rods that uses nano-technology to provide rods that are light, strong, responsive and, as I found out in the field, have unexpected tapers.

I’ve recently had the pleasure of trying out some products from the Platypus fishing line company. If you check out April’s VFM, you’ll find an excellent overview of the Platypus company by Dominic Fry. As you can see, they’ve been around for a long time now.
